SoE Windows-based computers running on the ENGR_STUDENT domain will migrate to the central UConn Active Directory (AD). MAC and Linux computers are not involved. SoE IT support staff will contact you to arrange a time for us to visit your office to migrate your computer(s). After the transition, your login will change.
All Items Below Are Automated:
- Installation of Configuration Manager Client – A way to inventory and manage computers. SOE IT staff will be managing this system for SOE. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/server-cloud/products/system-center-configuration-manager/overview.aspx
- Changing from ENGR_STUDENT Domain to UCONN Domain.
- Email on desktop and laptop systems.
- Faculty and Staff will go to Office 365
- Graduate and Undergraduate students will go to Google Mail
- Networked Data Storage gets bigger.
- H-Drive or your home drive will still be present
- Your desktop will remain the same.
- All of your connected printers will be available.
- All of your networked shared drives will be available.
