SOE Domain Migration to the UConn Domain

Dear faculty and staff,

Our afterhours automated migration of our faculty and staff computers has changed.

We will not be running the process at night but will continue tomorrow with a hands on approach.

This afternoon we tested tool that will allow the IT staff to perform the migration with a personal touch in a shorter time and better management of availability.

All IT staff please contact the help desk or myself when you come in tomorrow.

Dear faculty and staff,

Beginning Tuesday, July 19 and continuing until Tuesday, July 26, your Windows-based computer will be migrated to the central UConn Active Directory (AD).

Your migration will occur one evening during this one week window. Please check the workstation schedule to find out your date. The evening before your workstation is scheduled to be migrated:
• Save all work and close all programs.
• Re-start your computer. (The success rate is much higher for machines that have been restarted.)

Laptops will need to be reconfigured to work with the UConn AD. Please follow the same steps above for your SoE Windows-based laptop. If your laptop is not configured on the scheduled day, bring your laptop to the ETS Help Desk to have it configured by a UITS or SoE technician.

Once your migration is complete, your login will change. You will login with your UConn NetID and NetID password on the UConn domain. For more information about the changes and support options, visit http://soe-migration.uconn.edu.

If you have any questions or concerns, contact the ETS Help Desk staff at help@engr.uconn.edu.

Regards,
Migration team, SoE and UITS
