Dear SoE Faculty, Students and Staff,
We are writing to give you advance notice of upcoming file storage changes tentatively scheduled for mid-October.
In line with our ongoing efforts to migrate to central services, all SoE personal, webpage, and group shared files will be transferred to a UITS-managed system. This includes all of SOE private_home (H:\), public_html (W:\) and departmental and research shared drives located on hnas.engr.uconn.edu.
Below is an overview of changes after the migration:
- Private_home (H:\) drives will become the (P:\) drive. All group shared folders will show up under one drive labeled (Q:\).
- Students will login to the SoE SkyBox or Learning Center with their UConn NetID credentials and not SoE ID.
- Those using MAC or Linux machines will have access to the same drives but may need to manually configure them depending on the operating system.
- Web pages will also move to a central system. More details will be forthcoming.
- Our web tool “MyFiles” is being evaluated and we do expect it to be available for SOE.
