Dear SOE,

We are writing to notify you that we will be migrating all School of Engineering websites to central UConn web servers over the course of a year and with a goal of finishing by March 2019.

As part of the transition to central services, the SOE will be retiring our local web servers (Web 10 & 11) that currently host your departmental/program sites as well as those personal/group web sites impacted by the data storage migration.  This migration will be fully supported by SOE Communications and ITS Web Development during this period. When completed, we will have a feature rich web sites with enhanced security and expanded support from SOE and ITS.

With the help of SOE Communications and ITS Web Development, we have already started migrating some departmental websites. For individual sites, ETS will be contacting groups of site owners and assisting them with the transition based on priorities and resources.   Most sites will migrate to Aurora, the University’s WordPress-powered content management system.  Sites that run scripts will be moved to a standalone server for added features.  SOE and ITS will notify you of your options and assist you with the transition.
